Mission Statement

Knollwood Retirement Community is dedicated to quality care for our residents. This is reflected and promoted on an everyday basis by our knowledgeable staff in their care for residents, our health and wellness programs, and the amenities at our community. We strive for a home like atmosphere surrounded by a level of assistance tailored to the needs of the individual. Our facility is multi-functional in scope and has an impact on many parties. This includes but is not limited to our residents, families, friends, as well as the community at large. Therefore, our goal is to be a positive force to the residents, fellow employees and anyone who we interact with as we represent both ourselves and our community.

Meet the Team

Brycen started his career in housekeeping & Laundry for a SNF, after discovering his love for the elderly, he moved into a CNA role. Brycen spent a few years working in that capacity he began to explore other career options and spent 3 years in Insurance. In the summer of 2022 Brycen wanted to return to his true calling in Healthcare and found us here at Knollwood. He has been drawn to healthcare and Knollwood due to his love for the elderly and desire to help people. 

Hobbies: Watching football, spending time with family, and Being outside

Favorite Color: Green 

Favorite Sport: Football – Go STEELERS! 

Dream Vacation: Italy to see things like the Roman Colosseum

Marilyn has been in healthcare for roughly 40 years! She started working as a secretary at Centerville Hospital, spent some time as a teachers assistant for Special Education Students. She has been at Knollwood for 11 years. She personally designed the Move-In Coordinator position to promote safety and efficiency during the move-in process while still managing the Housekeeping & Laundry departments. Marilyn gravitated towards medicine and Long Term care due to her love to learn from those that have more experiences than herself. Marilyn’s favorite part about Knollwood is the family like atmosphere and the people she has had the privilege of working with over the last 11 years. 

Hobbies: Reading, playing Candy Crush, and watching western movies!

Favorite Color: Purple! 

Favorite Sport: She loved watching her husband coach and sons play football

Dream Vacation: Alaska with an enclosure so she could watch the bears and other animals!

 

Alice has spent over 30 years in Medicine, the last 24 of those as an administrator. She has spent just over 3 years as the administrator of Knollwood and was crucial in Navigating the difficult years of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Alice was drawn to healthcare due to her close relationship with her Grandmother and her love of the elderly. She was drawn to Knollwood specifically because she says the staff she works with is unlike any other team she’s been a part of. 

Hobbies: Spending time with her grandchildren and siblings, and farming and fishing! 

Favorite Color: Red  

Favorite Sport: Not a sports person! 

Dream Vacation: Pope County, IL. Alice loves her farm!

Ed has been in healthcare for the last 13 years, prior to coming to healthcare he spent several years in the Army Special Forces, where he was able to travel all over the world. He has been at Knollwood for just over 3 years as our maintenance director, keeping the building up and running smooth! He’s loved working at Knollwood since he enjoys working with our residents and being able to help solve issues the seniors may be having. 

Hobbies: Horseshoes, anything outdoor, and he is an avid holiday decorator! 

Favorite Color: Blue

Dream Vacation: Germany

Viktor started his career in Healthcare just over 13 years ago as a Hospital Security guard where he spent 6 years and discovered his passion for the senior population. He then stepped into an activity assistant role, Viktor spent 2 years assisting in activities until finally accepting an Activity Director position where he has worked at different facilities for the past 5 years. Viktor came to Knollwood in the summer of 2022 to further pursue his passion for the elderly and building rewarding relationships with seniors. 

Hobbies: Woodworking, Fishing, and Golf

Favorite Color: Green

Favorite Sport: Hockey or Golf

Dream Vacation: A trip to a Cabin on a Musky Lake with a PGA Golf Course next to it!
