Our Knollwood Retirement Community Walking Club members have been on the move — and their dedication has truly taken them places! Cumulatively, our walkers have logged 4,180,000 steps, enough to make the journey from the Gateway Arch in St. Louis all the way to the Space Needle in Seattle.
Each member wears a pedometer to track their daily activity and brings their step totals to our weekly meetings. At the end of each month, we combine everyone’s numbers to see just how far we’ve “traveled” together. Month after month, our walking club has been steadily increasing its distance — proving that every step really does count.
More than just a fitness challenge, our walking club is a way to stay healthy, encourage each other, and have a lot of fun along the way. Whether it’s a stroll down the hallway or a walk in the fresh air, we’re proud of the progress our members have made.
Here’s to the next destination — wherever our steps take us next!
Offering seniors age 65 and older a wealth of amenities to retain as much independence as they are able, with support, in a home-like environment in our supportive living community.
