At Knollwood Retirement Community, some of the most meaningful moments happen when the people who spend time with our residents become part of the Knollwood family themselves.
Recently, our Memory Lane residents had the pleasure of celebrating a very special birthday with their wonderful yoga instructor, Mahlon! The room was filled with smiles and plenty of birthday cheer.
For the past two years, Mahlon has shared much more than yoga with our residents. Through regular visits and time spent together, she has built genuine relationships while creating opportunities for movement, social connection, and simply enjoying one another’s company.
Mahlon shared:
“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with Knollwood’s Memory Lane residents. Over the past two years, spending time with them has continued to be a meaningful and rewarding experience.”
The feeling is certainly mutual!
More Than an Activity
At Knollwood, activities like yoga and gentle exercise offer opportunities for residents to stay engaged, enjoy movement, connect with others, and share meaningful experiences together.
But sometimes, the best part has nothing to do with the activity itself.
It’s recognizing a familiar face when they walk through the door. It’s laughing together, celebrating birthdays, sharing stories, and building relationships that become more meaningful with time.
Looking around the room at Mahlon’s birthday celebration, that sense of connection is easy to see.
We are grateful for Mahlon and all the wonderful people who share their time and talents with our residents and become such a special part of everyday life at Knollwood.
