At Knollwood, we believe that every birthday is an opportunity to celebrate a life well lived and to remind our residents just how much they are loved.
Last week, our Memory Lane neighborhood was filled with smiles, laughter, and heartfelt moments as we celebrated two remarkable women: Carolyn Romines’ 81st birthday and Janice Pasnokot’s 84th birthday.
For Carolyn, the celebration carried a particularly special meaning. She shared that she had always dreamed of having a birthday party of her own, and the thought of finally celebrating brought tears to her eyes. Knowing her favorite color is pink, our team planned a cheerful “Pretty in Pink” birthday complete with festive decorations, delicious cupcakes, and plenty of love. It was a celebration created straight from the heart.
The festivities began on Memory Lane before continuing into Happy Hour in the Assisted Living Activity Center, where residents from both Memory Care and Assisted Living gathered together. Bringing our communities together for special occasions like these encourages new friendships, strengthens existing connections, and creates meaningful moments that everyone can share.
By the end of the celebration, Carolyn couldn’t stop smiling. She shared that she had a wonderful birthday and truly felt special. She also expressed something that touched all of our hearts: that she considers the Knollwood team her family and her fellow residents her friends.
It is moments like these that reflect what life at Knollwood is all about. Beyond providing exceptional care, we are committed to creating a community where every resident feels seen, valued, connected, and celebrated. Whether it’s a milestone birthday, a shared meal, or an afternoon spent together, these experiences become cherished memories that enrich the lives of everyone involved.
Happy Birthday, Carolyn and Janice! Thank you for allowing us to celebrate your special day. We are honored to be part of your story and look forward to creating many more joyful memories together.
