This week in the Knollwood Memory Care wing, our community welcomed the season with glitter, greenery, and lots of smiles. Residents gathered for a series of holiday arts and crafts, creating festive wreaths and cheerful snow globes that added a special sparkle to our days.
From bright tinsel circles held up with proud grins to snow globes cradled like tiny winter wonderlands, every project carried its own personality. Some residents chose classic holiday colors, while others went bold and playful. The room felt busy in the best way, hands working, conversation flowing, and laughter popping up around the tables.
More Than Crafts, These Are Moments
In Memory Care, activities like this are about so much more than the finished piece. The textures, colors, and familiar holiday themes can bring comfort and connection. As we worked together, we saw residents really light up. There were smiles that lingered, stories shared, and quiet moments of pride as each creation came to life.
Decorating With What We Made
After the crafting was done, the fun kept going. We used the wreaths and snow globes to decorate our spaces, turning our wing into a warm, holiday-ready home. Seeing residents spot their own creations on display was a joy all on its own. It’s amazing how a handmade decoration can feel like a little flag that says, “I helped make this place beautiful.”
